What are the best ab exercises to go to flatten my gut.?

I work out a fair bit, i'm a 25year old male, but I can't get a good answer on what the best way to tone my abs is. Through working out my chest is getting bigger but i still retain that small amount of stomach 'flab'. I am looking for some good exercises as I am happy to put in the hard work.

  1. To be honest ‘flattening’ your gut is down to the cv work you do and fat-burning. Combined with the cv the exercises should work but the ab exercises alone won’t do it. If anything they will increase your stomach in size not flatten it. As for the best exercises try jackknives, Planks, or what i call windscreen wipers (below)

Instructions: Place a mat on the floor and lie on on your back with your arms in the “T” position for stability. Lift your legs so that they are perpendicular to the floor and rotate your hips, keeping them in contact with the floor, so that your legs move from left to right, in a “windshield wiper” motion. Make sure to move in a slow and controlled manner.

    hope that helps?

  2. Focus on doing ab exercises like the Plank, Side Plank, Bicycle Crunches, and Ab Wheel.

These will strengthen your core and flatten your abs.
However, to get rid of the flab you need to expend more calories than you’re consuming through a combination of diet and cardio/strength training. That’s the only way to get rid of fat. Ab exercises won’t burn the fat in your abs, Spot reducing doesn’t work. Strengthening and toning your abs will help pull your abs in, so you need to do that, but ultimately the amount of fat you have will determine how your gut looks.
